We are hiring!

Join our team for the 2023 Spring & Summer season!

Full Time & Part Time positions available
Compensation DOE

We are hiring! Sculptured Gardens is looking for team members to join our nursery staff for the 2023 season!

Sculptured Gardens is the Inland Northwest’s Premier Gift Shop, Garden Center, and Nursery, and we pride ourselves on providing a superior shopping experience for our customers.

Our team members are an integral part of that experience, and while our standards are high, so is our commitment to a happy, healthy, safe, and enjoyable workplace.

Applicants should be personable and professional, able to communicate effectively, be presentable in appearance, and value a standard of excellence in their workplace.  Reliable means of phone communication and transportation are also required.  Leadership and advancement opportunities are available!

These positions will include working in our greenhouse and/or on our nursery yard, assisting customers and maintaining plant material, and also in our gift shop and/or kiosk ringing up customers.  This will include physical labor like taking down and replacing hanging baskets (overhead lifting), loading plants (like shrubs) or bags of soil onto carts, and pushing those carts.  You will also assist with basic nursery and plant maintenance, such as watering and pruning.

You will often work outside, so some degree of heat tolerance is needed.  Some nursery/garden center experience or home experience with annual and perennial planting is required. Retail and/or sales experience is also required.

You must be able and excited to make good plant recommendations that fit the customers’ needs and to accurately guide customers looking to add to their landscape.  While you will learn on the job, some background knowledge on any of the following will be very helpful: annuals, perennials, trees, shrubs, grasses, pesticides, fungicides, and fertilizers.

If you know about plants, enjoy working outdoors in spring & summer, love helping people, and enjoy the chance to be on your feet and moving in your job, this could be the one for you!

Due to potential transfer of Tobacco Mosaic Virus, applicants must be non-smoking.

PLEASE NOTE: Seasonal positions are filled during the spring and summer planting seasons. As such, seasonal staff are critical to our success. Therefore, time-off requests are considered on a case-by-case basis only March-June.  Employees are expected to plan their extracurricular activities on their scheduled days off.  We will work to keep your schedule as consistent as possible to make such planning feasible - we do value a healthy work-life balance.

Full time and part time positions are available, and applicants must be available on weekends (can rotate depending on availability). Work shifts are typically 4-9 hours and fall between 7:30am and 6:30pm.  Early morning availability for watering is a plus!

These are seasonal positions lasting typically through June or July with the potential for additional hours as needed.  Seasonal staff will have priority for any year-round positions that may open up.  Leadership and advancement opportunities are available!
